Rendering fonts: Firefox versus IE

After spending a lot of time trying to figure out why verdana looked so much better in IE than Firefox, found this article which reveals it is all down to the effects used to smooth the font, by changing to ClearType the font renders in Firefox just as well as it looks in IE.
